RX Take Back

10AM-2PM
Ocean Beach Hospital

Why is Rx Disposal Important?

Nearly half of young people who inject heroin start by abusing Rx drugs.

When considering how to prevent heroin addiction in our community, you may not think to start at your medicine cabinet. However, there is an increasing trend nationally in prescription drug abuse leading to heroin use.

Unmonitored prescriptions are easy to access and hard to notice. They are also in most households.

Most teens who abuse prescription drugs get them from friends and relatives, often without the person knowing.
